I sew a lot, and I love to work with fleece. This book has oodles of projects that will please the end user. The directions are easy to follow and detailed enough for the novice crafter or sewist to successfully complete the project. I wish there were photos with the tote bag and shopping bag, otherwise this is book is just right!
This book is full of project instructions for easy to sew things and a few no-sew projects using fleece fabric. The projects are very simple and the author explains how to make up the patterns for things like mittens, ear warmers, hats, scarves and various other things.
Because fleece is so easy to work with, and since a lot of the projects use straight seams this is a great collection of projects for beginning sewers. Some of them could even be easily hand stitched instead of sewn on machine with some adaptation.
The finished projects like hats and mittens could be donated, or just as the author suggests, stocked up on to replace the hats and mittens that inevitably get lost.
Very simple, nearly instant gratification, and useful items as well. It maybe too simple for more advanced sewers looking for more of challenge.
I love making gifts for loved friends and family, this book had so many cute quick ideas and was so easy to understand. I have fleece in totes that I was going to donate, but now I am going to make a few fun gifts . Maybe I might make some to even sell!. the pictures help in case the instructions are not perfectly clear.

This book tells you how to use fleece to make simple easy gifts. Some you have to sew, some you do not.
Pictures of the projects and other drawings showing measurements and how to do certain things. Easy to follow step by step instructions along with list of things you will need.
Hats interest me as they are very versatile.
Items for your pet are also included along with Christmas ornaments.
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
I am a crafter at heart and enjoy learning new crafts and doing new projects. And, I confess, I have never worked with fleece before. The material intimidated me a bit. When I grabbed this book during its free promotion period, I was pretty excited to read it, learn more about fleece and try out some of the patterns.
I liked the scarves and the blankets and will be hitting the fabric store this weekend to make some gifts, just in time for Christmas. Very simple projects that I think anyone can do, I will be sharing these with my two daughters, who love crafts as much as I do, so they can make some gifts for friends and teachers as well. Maybe after the holidays we will try the hats and mittens to. As much as I'd love to make the dog toys, our pup chews everything beyond recognition, so I will have to pass on those projects. =)
What really helps is that there are many pictures that demonstrate the steps. For a visual person like me, this makes a HUGE difference. It is one thing to read directions...a whole other thing to be able to see the directions. Steps are easy enough for my girls to follow and I think we are going to really enjoy making many of the projects in this book!
This book has a collection of projects aimed at people with no or little sewing experience scarves, blankets, hats, mittens, wraps, stuff for dogs and pets, pillows and tote bags, and Christmas decor. Most of the projects have at least one photo, most often of the completed project. Some photos are out of focus, but still give you some idea of the project looks like. I only found a couple of interesting ideas. Overall, the projects are pretty simple and have a home spun look.

Perfect homemade Christmas gifts book! Everything in this book can be made in a few hours and all the fleece projects are so cool - there isn't anything in this book I personally wouldn't like to receive for Christmas. My family and I started right with the decorative snowmen, and made some for the grandparents also.
There are many fleece projects that don't require any sewing at all - what could be easier?? This is a great crafting book.
